Edit Text in Image API

Replace text inside images with AI while keeping the original font, colour and background. OCR, edits, results and webhooks over a simple REST API.

The ReWords.AI API lets your product change the text inside an image — a price on a banner, a word in a meme, a date on a certificate — without redrawing it. It is the same engine that powers rewords.ai.

How it works

  1. Find the text. POST /ocr returns every line of text and its position. Skip this step if you already know where the text is, or if you only know the words — the edit endpoint can locate them for you.
  2. Submit the edit. POST /edits with the old and new text. The job is queued and you get an id back at once.
  3. Get the results. Poll GET /edits/{id} or receive a webhook. Every successful job returns result A and result B; result C (4K) is added when the image is suitable.
